Christopher Carpentier is one of the jurors who has stood out in the different seasons of Master Chef Celebrity. The Chilean chef, who showed on Colombian television his culinary skills, and his charisma, with which he stole the hearts of the participants and viewers, apparently will not be in the most famous kitchen in the country during 2024.
This was confirmed by Carpentier in the YouTube program Monologues without Tip, a podcast starring comedians and former Master Chef finalists Adrián Parada, Chicho Serna and Frank Martínez. The renowned Chilean chef, amidst laughter and jokes, accepted before the comedians that the cycle in the reality show had ended to make way for a new project in Bogotá.
Christopher stated in the program recorded in Medellín that his new project will be related to teaching cooking, so his time will focus on classes and not on the focus of RCN productions. The chef indicated that he plans to open an academy in the country’s capital in the first months of 2024.
“I am recovering the house in Quinta Camacho and I am doing a school that will have a cooking school, a liquid school… I am doing a project and that is what leaves me out of continuing to do (the reality show).”
In the same way, he took advantage of the time with the comedians to laugh and make fun of the life and incidents of the program, Carpentier, amidst laughter, accepted that the 2023 season had been one of the lowest with respect to the level of competition of the participants.
Precisely referring to the final in which Parada participated and lost to Carolina Acevedo, the Chilean chef recalled the comedian’s bad dish that cost him the millionaire prize: “The truth is, yours was very bad (…) it’s just that it’s very difficult having been cooking well for 122 episodes to reach the final and bring a live lamb… a lot of gross”, to which the Paisa comedian responded “sorry for the little bit.”
Who has said no to the most famous cuisine in Colombia
Master Chef Celebrity Colombia, a competition that brings together Colombian entertainment figures, has experienced rejections from different personalities, despite offering a significant prize of 200 million pesos to its winner. Celebrities such as Laura Acuña, Kathy Sáenz and Alejandra Azcárate have declined the invitation, arguing from lack of culinary skills to aversion to competition or the stress generated by the reality format.
The cooking reality show has been a space of friendship and challenges, but it has also generated concerns in those who have decided to accept the challenge. Liss Pereira reported damage to her health after her participation, and Carolina Acevedo, recent winner of the contest, recounted weight loss and episodes of illness associated with pressure and wear and tear. Even the comedian Adrián Parada once pointed out that he felt exhausted by the long commitment that the program implies.
Despite the economic incentives and visibility offered by success in programs such as Master Chef Celebrity Colombia, the decision not to participate by figures such as José Gabriel Ortiz, Jorge Enrique Abello, Lokillo, Mábel Cartagena and Mateo Carvajal highlights a critical stance towards to the dynamics of these television formats.
It is also worth highlighting some consecrated ones such as comedian Piter Albeiro, champion of one of the seasons who took advantage of the victory to start his own projects. This is the case of Chicho Arias and Frank who, after their participation in the reality show, started the food and stand up comedy business Mero Gastro Bar in Medellín. With Infobae
