Despite poverty, Shahbaz Khan Wazir of North Waziristan has earned eight Masters degrees and various diplomas, but he is still forced to guard shops in the grain market for a salary of Rs 3,000.
35-year-old Shahbaz hails from Shawwal Tehsil of North Waziristan but has been living in Howaid area of Bannu district for many years.
According to Shahbaz, he received his primary education from Government Primary School Musa Khan Janikhel, after which he completed his middle education from Government Higher Secondary School Hakeem Khan Howeed, then he passed his 9th and 10th exams from Government Higher Secondary School Ghoriwala. passed
After matriculation, he turned his attention to religious education and obtained the credentials of Qur’at in 2003 and Hafz al-Qur’an and Shahadat al-Alamiya in 2006. Later in 2009 after passing FA from Bannu Board in 2011 he passed BA examination from Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad.
In 2013, Shahbaz Wazir obtained his MA in Arabic from the University of Bannu and the streak never stopped.
In 2015, he did his MA in Pashto from Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan. MA English from Bannu University in 2016. MA History degree from Bannu University in 2017. MSc Economics degree from Bannu University in 2020 and last year i.e. 2020 from Allama Iqbal Open University. Obtained the degree of MA Education.
Shahbaz Khan Wazir has also obtained diplomas from various institutions, the details of which are as follows.
Arabic Honors (Mulvi Fazil) from Bannu Board in 2008, one year quantity land surveyor course from Karam Polytechnic College Township Bannu in 2009, six months computer short courses, three months DBEL in English Diploma while three months Typing certificate.
Shahbaz got married in 2006, with whom he has two sons and two daughters, while one daughter is deceased. His mother also lives with him while he has four siblings.

He told Independent Urdu: ‘I guard the shops in the grain market of Bannu Shahr at night, for which I get three thousand rupees, while in the morning I teach three to four students, which earns me four Get thousand rupees. Thus, I get 78,000 rupees per month, but it is very little for me because I pay the house rent by 2,000 rupees and the rest of the money is not enough for me to meet the expenses of the house.’
In response to a question, he said that ‘money is demanded for the job, if there is money then the job is given, otherwise not. I am still being asked for four lakh rupees for a small set, but where do I have that much money?’
He added: ‘I want to make my country famous. I have also worked in private organizations and applied for jobs in various organizations. I have tried for a job from deputy messenger to clerk, but due to lack of money, I am not getting a job.’
He expressed his wish that he should be given a good job so that he can support his children in a good way and continue his education.
