The symphonic concert “The Romanticism of Frederic Chopin” will be performed with the participation of Argentine pianist Lorena Eckell and the String Orchestra under the baton of maestro Pedro Sierra. The program will be completed with the work Elegy by PI Tchaikowsky.

The Argentine pianist, who has performed on several occasions in San Javier and also in Maule and Antofagasta, believes that “Chopin is the poet of the piano” and that it is impossible not to have always been in love with this concert.

“Speaking specifically of this first concerto for piano and orchestra in E minor, it is a perfect combination of beauty, inspired cantábiles and virtuosity of the highest level. After an epic beginning, in the first movement the composer presents a theme of unusual sweetness that will be repeated throughout the entire section. The second movement is very beautiful and the third, the rondo, shows the Polish roots of the lively composer full of life. The ending that a work of this magnitude needs,” says the trans-Andean artist who considers herself “very fortunate to perform regularly in Chile.”

This work of European Romanticism will be conducted by maestro Pedro Sierra with whom, according to the pianist, there is “a musical communion where orchestra, soloist and conductor are united to extract the best from each work we undertake, where we put all, absolutely all of our sensitivity at the service of music.”

For the pianist, it is important to attend the concert because it is a work that is not heard every day and the theater also stands out for its beauty and acoustics.

The Cultural Corporation’s programming is funded by the PAOCC project of the Ministry of Culture, Art and Heritage and the Seremi del Maule.
