Chinese Style and World Update – Al-Baath Media

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China held in October 2022 set out a blueprint for China’s future development, and clearly proposed to promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in an all-round way through modernization in a Chinese-style way. Not long ago, the Lanting Forum on “Chinese-style Modernization and the World” was held in Shanghai. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the forum, pointing out that achieving modernization has been the unremitting pursuit of the Chinese people since modern times, and is also the common pursuit of people from all over the world. China is willing to work with other countries to create new opportunities for global development with new achievements in Chinese-style modernization, provide new assistance to humanity in exploring better modernization paths and social systems, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Modernization of the Chinese style is an inevitable choice of China’s century-long development process, a requirement for advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in an all-round way, and an inevitable result of the scientific principles of human development. China will more firmly uphold the development rights of all countries, more actively promote high-level opening-up, more consciously promote civilizational exchanges, more consciously cooperate to build a community with a shared future for all living beings on earth, and more resolutely defend the international order.
China’s modernization is injecting stronger momentum into the global economic recovery. Today, China has become a major trading partner for more than 140 countries and regions, with $320 million in direct Chinese investment flowing into the world every day, and more than 3,000 foreign companies registering in China every month. Over the past decade, China has outpaced the G7 countries combined in terms of contribution to global growth. With China’s 1.4 billion-plus population fully integrated into modern society, China will inevitably provide greater impetus to the global economy.
The Chinese-style modernization is paving a broader path for the common development of all countries. This year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s joint construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative. Over the past 10 years, more than 3,000 cooperation projects have been built, increasing investment by nearly 1 trillion US dollars and creating 420,000 jobs for countries along the “Belt and Road.” The global development initiative proposed by President Xi has so far received support from more than 100 countries and many international organizations. China attaches great importance to solving the debt problems of developing countries, actively and comprehensively implements the G20 debt reduction initiative, and contributes up to 63% of the debt suspension quota.
The Chinese-style modernization inevitably opens up a better prospect for the progress of human society. President Xi Jinping put forward the World Civilization Initiative, which calls for paying attention to cultural heritage and creativity, respecting the diversity of world civilizations, and adhering to equality, mutual learning, dialogue and tolerance among civilizations. The Chinese-style modernization seeks to achieve harmony between material civilization and spiritual civilization, and the ultimate goal is to achieve free and comprehensive development of mankind.
The Chinese-style modernization provides a more feasible solution for building a clean and beautiful world. China consciously takes on the responsibility of protecting the ecological environment and addressing climate change, and leads the world in the following areas: the area of ​​artificial forests, which accounts for a quarter of the world’s total; the scale of renewable energy development and utilization, with China’s installed wind and solar power capacity accounting for one-third of the world’s total installed capacity; and the scale of production and sales of renewable energy vehicles, with half of the world’s renewable energy vehicles being driven in China.
China’s modernization brings more factors that confirm world peace and stability. China’s development is not aimed at hegemony. China is the only country that has enshrined “adhering to the path of peaceful development” in its constitution, is the largest contributor of peacekeeping forces among the permanent members of the UN Security Council, and is the only country among the five nuclear states that pledges not to be the first to use nuclear weapons. President Xi Jinping put forward the Global Security Initiative, which showed the right direction for achieving common security and world security. China has always advocated the peaceful settlement of international disputes through consultation and dialogue. China’s efforts have contributed to the resumption of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which has blown a “wind of reconciliation” in the Middle East, and prompted more countries to shake hands and reconcile.

Modernization is a common cause for all mankind. The success of China’s modernization fully demonstrates that modernization has no fixed model. All countries can realize their dreams of modernization, as long as the modernization model suits their national conditions and serves the development of their people.
The Chinese-style modernization was pioneered by China, and the world can seize the opportunity it brings. It is a modernization that covers a huge population, in which all the people enjoy common prosperity, combines material and spiritual civilization, and takes the path of peaceful development. Based on our own national conditions and the experience of other countries, it not only inherits history and culture, but also integrates modern civilization, which not only benefits the Chinese people, but also promotes the common development of the world. It is the broad path to building a strong country and realizing national rejuvenation, and it is also the only way for China to seek human progress and world harmony. The Chinese side is willing to work with other countries to create new opportunities for world development by drawing on the new achievements of Chinese-style modernization, and to inject new energy into the process of mankind exploring ways of modernization and better social systems, and building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Recently, the Arab League resumed Syria’s membership. The Chinese side sincerely welcomes and congratulates Syria’s return to the Arab League, and believes that it will contribute to strengthening the solidarity of Arab countries, accelerating the Arab world’s steps towards development and renaissance, and bringing more positive factors to the path of reconstruction in Syria.
China and Syria share a profound traditional friendship, are good friends and dear brothers, and will surely become partners moving hand in hand on the path of modernization. Looking to the future, China is ready to work with Syria and other countries in the world to promote modernization with its own characteristics and create a better tomorrow for the world together. We hope and believe that as more countries in the world embark on the path of modernization and move toward the goal of building a community with a shared future for mankind, we will surely make the Earth, the only common home of mankind, a better and more beautiful place.
