The Sun, Thursday (15/8/2024) reported, the twin-engine aircraft had its maiden flight last week in Zigong, southwest Sichuan province. It was said that the aircraft was able to fly stably for 20 minutes.
The structure of this aircraft is truly extraordinary with a wingspan of 16.1 meters, a height of 4.6 meters, and a cargo space of 12 cubic meters.
The futuristic aircraft is expected to support the expansion of air delivery services in China utilizing low-altitude airspace. That is, the area up to 1,000 meters above the ground that has the potential for intensive use in the future around the world. The use of this space can include passenger transportation, cargo delivery, and manufacturing.
Beijing has been racing to develop drone technology to improve China’s transportation and business, which could result in the elimination of vehicles such as trucks, ships and trains.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China said the country’s low-altitude economy surpassed 500 billion Yuan or more than 54 billion Pounds in 2023. This fantastic figure is projected to soar even higher as it is estimated to reach 2 trillion Yuan by 2030.
