Since his last performance at the Municipal Theatre of Chillán, in August of last year, the tenor Vicente Muñoz returns to the most important stage of the capital of Ñuble to delight the Chillán public again with his tenth concert: “Harmonies of singing and piano”.

On this occasion, the tenor will offer an intimate concert, accompanied by another prominent Chillán native: the pianist Cristian Barria. In the recital, you will be able to hear a select and varied repertoire of opera arias by great composers such as Vivaldi, Händel, Tosti, among others. All this in a single concert that includes a new repertoire, which will premiere for the first time in the theater of the community of Chillán.

Vicente Muñoz, a 26-year-old tenor from the city of Chillán, is not far behind with his powerful, agile and brilliant voice, which earned him the 2015 Municipal Art Award in the same city where he grew up.

The artist has been consolidating his career in the operatic field for almost a decade in Italy, and he has done so under the guidance of his teacher, Fernando Cordeiro Opa.

“My teacher Fernando Cordeiro Opa has guided my voice completely, not only with the technical aspects of the vocal process, which are very complex, but also with the repertoire, stage expression, interpretation and total control of the body. Each muscle plays a fundamental role in singing, and one must be fully aware of them. Having a teacher is key, especially because he knows my limits and helps me overcome them. And, after overcoming them, you have to focus on other aspects. It is slow work, but if done well, it allows you to go very far,” she says.

Muñoz arrived in Italy in 2016, and since then has performed in various venues nationwide. Currently, he is studying Advanced Interpretation in Renaissance and Baroque Singing at the prestigious Rossini Conservatory, named after the famous Italian composer Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868) who was born in the city of Pesaro, Italy, where he lives and studies. In addition, this city is the annual venue for the important Rossini Opera Festival, which annually brings together thousands of singers and people from the world of opera.

This time, the concert’s intimate format stands out, as does the traditional opera repertoire, as well as the collaboration between Vicente Muñoz and Cristian Barria, both artists from the city of Chillán and former students of the Colegio Seminario Padre Alberto Hurtado.
