Chess – National Summit: Victory of Toavina Razanadrakotoarisoa

The 2024 Madagascar Senior Chess Championship ended on August 14 at the Bezanozano Hotel in Moramanga. For five days, from August 10 to 14, chess enthusiasts competed in an intense competition that brought together 56 participants, divided into two categories. The N1 category, bringing together 20 players, saw the victory of Toavina Razanadrakotoarisoa, representing the CGM club. With a total of 5.5 points after the seventh and final round, Toavina Razanadrakotoarisoa brilliantly won the title of Champion of Madagascar, thus confirming her status as an elite player. In the N2 category, Sedranirina Andrianomenjanahary of CEJCA finished first with a score of 6 points after the seventh round. Andrianjafisoa Fitia Anthoninhio of FRR was distinguished as the best U16 player, while Randriatsiferana Dimbiharentsoa of MCG was hailed as the best female player. Rajaonarivelo Andriatahiana of CAVALIER NOIR was named best veteran. This championship saw the participation of players from all the regional leagues of Madagascar, such as the Alaotra Mangoro League, Analamanga, Amoron’i Mania, Bongolava, Vakinankaratra, Atsimo-Andrefana, Boeny, Diana, Haute Matsiatra and Menabe.

Vice-champion : Randrianandraina Roger (QUATACHESS)

3e place : Razafindratsimba Andry (CHESS KING).
