Change in the ČT line-up due to England’s progress: Poborský goes to comment!

The spectators liked the comments of the former representative Karel Poborský (52) and they will not miss them until the end of the Euro. Even those who prefer him as a match commentator (he has been three times so far), not just a glossator in the studio, in which he has been ten times, will also see the schedule.

“Although he was not in the original preliminary schedule as a commentator, it is adjusted according to which teams advance. As England is in the semi-finals, Karel Poborský will commentate on Wednesday’s match between England and the Netherlands,” explained Jiří Ponikelský, head of CT sport.

What will be next? Poborský will be a reporter from the Spain-France semi-final, speaking directly from the stadium in Munich. “We have an agreement with Karl that we will use him as a priority for England matches,” David Kozohorský, head of football broadcasting and guarantor of the Euro 2024 project, clarified.

Would the planned cast of the pair of final commentators Bosák and Zelenka change when England progressed to the title duel? According to Kozohorský, it would depend on the agreement. It would not be easy to change the cast operatively, as Czech Television will comment on Sunday’s final directly from the Berlin stadium. According to the plans, Poborský is supposed to be in the studio. “I can promise that his views will certainly not be missed on the air,” assured Kozohorský.
