After speculation on the distribution of CHAN 2024 bonuses, the representatives of Barea, Dax Arohasina Andriamirado, Toldo and coach Rôrô, clarified the situation in a video published by the FMF, affirming an agreement with the federation.
For several days, rumors have been igniting discussions around the distribution of bonuses for the Barea of Madagascar, vice-champions of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN). To put an end to these speculations, the Malagasy Football Federation (FMF) broadcast a video on its social networks, in which Dax Arohasina Andriamirado and Michel Toldo, representatives of the players, as well as the coach Romuald Rakotondrabe alias “Rôrô”, have spoken.
« We salute all Malagasy football lovers. We are here, at the Federation, as representatives of the players and staff. An agreement was reached with the FMF regarding bonuses. Everything is settled, and we ask that the rumors circulating on both sides stop “, said Dax Arohasina Andriamirado in the video.
This declaration comes in a tense context, marked by questions about the deductions applied by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on the initial “prize money” of 1.2 million dollars, reduced to around 1.1 million after costs for fines, television rights and equipment. The players notably reported having received 61.7 million ariary each, an amount lower than the 71 million initially mentioned. The speeches of Barea representatives aim to ease tensions and reaffirm confidence in the FMF’s commitments. If the federation had already assured that the distribution, validated by CAF, was transparent, this direct declaration from the players and coach Rôrô marks a desire to close the debate. By confirming an agreement with the FMF, the Barea hope to restore calm among supporters and observers, who passionately followed their heroic journey at CHAN 2024.
