President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) It is strengthened and its capacity will increase, due to the investment it has had in its administration.
“Now the CFE has more energy generation capacity than when we arrived. In the short term it will increase its energy generation capacity and is already strengthened as a public company,” he celebrated.
In his morning conference, the head of the Executive expressed that during the hot season the CFE “did an exceptional, effective and professional job” by ensuring that there would be no blackouts before the emergency.
López Obrador highlighted that throughout his mandate they have the challenge of rescuing the State company in the face of the intention of past administrations to privatize it; However, currently it has been achieved that the price of electricity did not increase in real terms.
“In the government we already had a hard time facing this privatization trend, it has not been possible to resolve everything, however we moved forward and now the CFE has more energy generation capacity than when we arrived. In the short term it will increase its energy generation capacity and is already strengthened as a public company,” he celebrated.
CFE rescue is a reality: Manuel Bartlett
The general director of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), Manuel Bartlettassured that the rescue of the company is “a reality” due to the “historic investment.”
From the National Palace, Bartlett indicated that the company has made all its resources available to the country to address and overcome this heat wave emergency. Bartlett celebrated that during López Obrador’s six-year term the cost of electricity to citizens did not increase.
“The rescue of the CFE is a reality, due to the historic investment that has been made in this administration, therefore we will account for the investment in the generation, transmission and dissemination of the CFE in this administration and that will allow its participation to increase until 54% guaranteeing the safety and reliability characteristics of the electrical system,” he highlighted.
The deputy director of Contracting and Services of CFE, Miguel Alejandro López López, pointed out that the CFE participates in 42% of the electricity sector annually. He reiterated that the CFE has a historic investment of 19,992 million dollars.
