Cefereso 14 inmates will participate in the election

A total of 446 Persons Deprived of their Liberty (PPL), are those who make up the Nominal List of the Federal Center for Social Rehabilitation (Cefereso) number 14 of Gómez Palacio, will be those who will participate for the first time in the Election Day on June 2 , according to data from the National Electoral Institute (INE).

Hada Rosabel Salazar, executive member of the Executive District Board 02 of the INE with headquarters in Gómez Palacio, explained that these are all the PPLs that do not yet have a sentence in their case, who will be able to participate with their vote.

He clarified that they will only be able to participate in the election of the President of the Republic.

Likewise, he commented that they are only waiting for the director of Cefereso to provide a date for District Board officials to enter to receive the votes of said citizens.

“They are officials of the (District) Board hired and trained to perform that function,” explained the executive member of District Board 02.

And he commented, “we are already in the period of receiving the vote, but we are waiting for the Director of Cefereso 14 to tell us the date on which we can enter the prison to collect the vote.” Since for them, it will be an early day to be held in this month of May.

Likewise, the official announced that this Wednesday, May 8, the electoral ballots will be received for the day of this June 2 corresponding to the elections of President of the Republic, to elect Senators and Federal Deputies.

“We went to the prison and asked them if they wanted to exercise that right, and if so, they had to ask us to include them for the only time in a specific Nominal List so that they could vote there, because since they one day got their credentials, They would appear normally in the section where they have registered, with that request that they signed, they give us permission to exclude them from the Nominal List of their address and for the only time we write them down on the List to vote in Cefereso”, The Executive Member commented at the time.

And he also explained that “Later, on the day of Election Day (June 2) at 5 in the afternoon, here in this district headquarters, only the counting and counting table will be established, which will operate normally, with a president , secretary and tellers; at that time it will be my responsibility to deliver the packages with the votes of the people of Cefereso so that they can count them and fill out the minutes.”
