The Constitutional Court (CC) has its eyes on the newly created Commission for the Competition Law, chaired by deputy Samuel Pérez, requesting a detailed report from the president of Congress, Nery Ramos, within 48 hours. This occurs after the Vamos bench presented an injunction against the Agreement of the presidency of Congress, in which Pérez was appointed as president of the commission.
The body, made up of deputies from eight legislative blocks, intends to address the competition law in Guatemala, which has been a popular demand due to the unequal conditions in which economic activity is carried out in the country. According to the President of Congress, the aim is to create a legal instrument that regulates economic activity under conditions of equality for all, both national and foreign capital.
