“Freezing from the cold” is not considered normal in any season. Persistent coldness and chills in the hands and feet may indicate a medical condition, including anemia and adrenal insufficiency.
Publika.az reports that endocrinologist Zukhra Pavlova spoke about this on the Telegram channel.
“Intolerance to cold occurs with anemia, problems with blood vessels (including cardiovascular diseases). Two more causes: a lack of subcutaneous fat and subclinical adrenal insufficiency. At this time, less cortisol is produced, but more adrenaline and norepinephrine are produced. Coldness is also characteristic of irritable, angry people. This is due to excessive noradrenaline contributing to peripheral vascular spasms. Such people usually have leadership qualities due to androgens, which act as a balance against cortisol,” the doctor explained.
Natural adaptogens, which are recommended to be taken in the morning, will help to get rid of “freezing”. These include herbal tonics – Chinese magnolia vine or Eleutherococcus. You need to drink them according to the instructions. Vitamin C will also help. 500 milligrams per day should be taken on an empty stomach. The vitamin should not be abused, otherwise there may be a risk of kidney stones. In the cold season, Pavlova advised to drink a course of multivitamins. You should also take vitamin D3. These drugs will increase the synthesis of cortisol, so you are less likely to catch a cold and feel less cold.
“You can take adaptogens in courses. Both during stressful periods and during sudden changes in weather. And, of course, during the autumn-winter period, when viruses are circulating,” Pavlova advised.
