Two weeks before the official baccalaureate, the students of terminal in Catholic high schools throughout the national territory this week face the tests of the Catholic baccalaureate which are spread over five days.
The 2025 Catholic baccalaureate tests began yesterday throughout the national territory. More than 64,000 candidates from more than 300 Catholic schools in Madagascar, divided into 22 dioceses, participate this week, dealing with the same examination subjects for all subjects. The philosophy test opened the session yesterday morning followed by the test of religion in the afternoon. This day, students will have to face the mathematics and Malagasy tests while tomorrow July 9, place in the physics-chemistry and history-geography tests. On the fourth day, July 10, the trials of French and science of life and the earth (SVT) will furnish the program of the day, and finally, the tests of education for life and love (EVA) and the modern languages will close the session on Friday at midday.
Official exams
Since yesterday, the first day of the session, the students started the week of examination in an atmosphere of maximum concentration. After the Catholic baccalaureate session, students are still called upon to maintain the level of concentration by preparing the official baccalaureate this time. This will be held, for the Baccalaureate of General Education and for the first part of the professional and technical baccalaureate and the technological baccalaureate, from July 21 to 25, 2025. The second part of the professional and technical baccalaureate, and the technological baccalaureate, will be held from July 28 to 31, 2025.
An internal
Like the Catholic BEPC and Catholic CEPE, the Catholic baccalaureate is an internal examination in Catholic education, and includes two subjects specific to Catholic education, namely, religion and EVA. In no case replacing official exams, it allows, however, to assess the level and performance of students from Catholic establishments, in anticipation of official exams. Obtaining the Catholic baccalaureate is also taken into account in the integration of Catholic universities in Madagascar.
