On April 28, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that, through understanding the actual situation, vehicle traffic increased suddenly on the elevated Ring Road 3 (facing the gateway to Hanoi City), Authorities allow cars to enter the emergency lane to reduce congestion.
Accordingly, vehicle traffic in the elevated beltway 3 (facing the gateway to Hanoi) increased dramatically from the afternoon of April 27 and the morning of April 28. At many times, traffic congestion lasted up to 6km.
Therefore, to reduce vehicle traffic and prevent prolonged congestion, authorities allow vehicles to enter the emergency lane on Ring Road 3 during the holiday period of April 30 – May 1.
The Traffic Police Department also arranged patrols to be ready to handle incidents and assist in guiding emergency vehicles in case of prolonged congestion. At the same time, functional forces remotely divert traffic, reducing congestion on the elevated beltway 3.
