Residents of Shchuchinsk are spreading videos of dead deer online. According to the author of the video, the animals were torn to pieces by stray dogs.

It turned out that the area where the animals died belongs to a national park.

In response to a request from the editors of Liter.kz, the Burabay State National Natural Park confirmed the death of several deer.

The National Park is taking measures to preserve the biodiversity of flora and fauna, carrying out biotechnical measures: laying out hay, brooms, greenery and salt. However, due to the deep snow cover in the forest, wild animals go out to adjacent settlements, where they are attacked by stray dogs. To prevent such incidents, the park’s inspectors are actively working to drive out stray dogs, said Yuri Zelinsky, chief game warden of the Burabay State National Park.

He added that some of the photos in the video were shown at different times of the year.

According to last year’s census data, 1,512 Ascanian deer and 1,562 roe deer live in the national park.
