“Sorry, is this place empty?” A woman said to Antonio who was outlining her words in her diary.
Slowly the man’s eyes wandered to the long-haired girl who was tucking her locks behind her ear as she smiled kindly. Antony immediately straightened up, turned his gaze to the empty chair at the table where he was enjoying a cup of coffee.
“Yes please.” She said, pointing to a chair, asking the girl to sit with him.
“Thank you.” The girl replied.
Unexpectedly, the girl had no intention of accompanying Antonio. Her fingers pulled the chair off the table and carried it to another table in the corner of the cafe. Laughter erupted as the girl chatted with her friends and left Antonio.
“Damn…” Antonio grumbled as he lowered his head, his ears turning red.
He immediately took a sip of the tea that was starting to cool, trying to rid himself of the shame that was eating away at his skin.
A moment later he looked left and right, taking in every corner of the bar, which was busier than it had been an hour ago when he first arrived here.
None of the visitors appeared to be sitting alone. Usually this doesn’t bother Antony. But due to the accident just now, the man realized that every day he always sat in the same chair, wrote sentences in the same diary and even ordered the same drink.
Nobody wanted to accompany him.
“Why daydream?” – exclaimed a woman, giving Antonio a gentle pat on the shoulder.
