Can the Chinese and Indian virus pass to Azerbaijan? – 2024-02-19 08:26:26

We have not yet fully recovered from the traumas caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, when the world is gripped by a new infection. The detection of mysterious pneumonia in Italy, Holland and Denmark, which is widespread in China and India, naturally causes concern in the population. Also, the press service of “Rospotrebnadzor” (Federal Service for Protection of Consumer Rights and Supervision of Human Welfare) reported that several cases of mycoplasma pneumonia were identified in Russia.

What risks await Azerbaijan and are we ready for these risks?

Publika.az news gives that Professor Alizamin Sadigov answered this question.

He said that mycoplasma pneumonia is not a dangerous situation for society:

“The British call it walking pneumonia. This disease never makes a person bedridden. Of course, it can be collective. For example, if a child is sick at school, it has a very high spread. It is a manageable problem, there is no vaccine against it. It is an antipic pathogen and spreads rapidly. But it is not a virus and it is a problem that cannot harm human health. There are almost no deaths from this disease. Like all other infections, we will get over it and it will pass. Although it spreads, it is not a life-threatening infection. Of course, if it has spread in the world, it will spread in Azerbaijan as well. It is possible that a billion people will get sick, but there will be no hospitalizations, deaths, etc.”

Professor Adil Geybulla and emphasized that although this disease used to occur only among children, the current indications are different:

“Today, its rather wide distribution shows that the agent has acquired a new property, has become active, etc. This may also be due to the weakening of the body after the coronavirus pandemic. During this disease, X-ray examination shows an inflammatory mass in the lungs and there are signs of pneumonia. The disease can worsen, of course, its spread also worries us. Therefore, the control in the border crossing zones should be strengthened, it is necessary to be careful. I believe that necessary epidemic measures should be implemented in our country as well.”

It should be noted that the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), Margaret Harris, said that they are monitoring the situation at a briefing held in Geneva.

“In China, the occurrence of mycoplasma pneumonia in winter is normal, and the current increase does not have the potential of a pandemic. Mycoplasma pneumonia is a disease that we usually see in winter, it is treated with antibiotics, and it is clearly detected in many different countries. It is still monitoring the situation, treatment and other we give advice on the issues. At the moment, we do not think that it has the potential of a pandemic,” the WHO official emphasized.

According to Harris, doctors cannot yet say for sure whether patients are immunologically weak because they have not been exposed to circulating viruses and bacteria during the global isolation of the pandemic.
