It will be a great glory! The Penguins will ceremoniously retire Jagr’s jersey before the game against Los Angeles. The native of Klagenfurt will become the fourth Czech hockey player to be honored by the club in the NHL by hanging his jersey under the ceiling of the hall. But excited fans are asking themselves one key question: Will Džegr play for the Penguins for the last time?
The Penguins legend in a solid game next to Crosby! Penguins fans would love that, but… “Then of course I can’t get on, that’s not possible, that would be against the rules,” said Jágr enthusiastically after Saturday’s training session.
Still, it’s quite likely that it won’t end with a ceremony… “The only thing I’m thinking about, or what the club would like, is for me to go skating with the team,” Jagr revealed.
But there is a catch. “I’ll see if I can make it because before that there’s the big ceremony and I don’t know how long it’s going to take me, how long it’s going to take, so I’ll sort it out and see. Maybe it would be nice, we’ll see, maybe it’s like good bye, I wouldn’t have a problem with that, but we’ll see if there’s time left” he explained.
But everyone believes that the legend will “have a good time” and after great fame will still put on the jersey…
