Kanye West’s use of a fragment of a song performed at a 1983 concert by Ozzy Osbourne caused a strong reaction from the Black Sabbath leader, who does not want to be associated with the rapper.
Through a message published on her official X social network account, Osbourne indicated that she did not give her consent for West to use the introduction of his song “Iron Man” in a recent presentation.
“Kanye West asked for permission to sample a part of a live performance of the song ‘Iron Man’ from the 1983 US Festival, without vocals, and permission was denied because he is an anti-Semite and has caused pain to many people.
“Anyway, he used the snippet of the song at his album listening party last night. “I don’t want to be related to this guy!” said the singer of hits like “War Pig” or “No more tears.”
Sharon, Osbourne’s wife, is a practitioner of the Jewish religion, and some specialists point out that this could be one of the reasons that led the famous composer to deny permission.
For years, Kanye West has been known for making a series of scandalous statements, including Holocaust denial, his declaration of fanaticism for Hitler, and anti-Semitic accusations.
However, some followers of West did not hesitate to return to statements made by Osbourne several years ago, in which he declared that Adolf Hitler’s oratory inspired his performances.
“Adolf Hitler used his charisma in a bad way, he was a madman, a lunatic, but there was a certain value in what he did. What he did was very bad, what this guy did is terrible, he killed thousands of people, but I admire him not because of what it was, but because if that had been put on the positive side, perhaps it would have done good to many people,” expressed at the time.
