Called Using Creative Financing, Jatake Station was built after BSD became PSN

JAKARTA – Minister of Transportation or Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi laid the first stone or groundbreaking for the construction of the new Jatake station, in Pagedangan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. It is explained that the construction of this project does not use APBN (State Revenue and Expenditure Budget), because it is the result of collaboration with Sinarmas Land through PT Bumi Serpong Damai ( BSD ) which was also previously designated as National Strategic Project (PSN) .

“Therefore, I appreciate the very good cooperation between PT KAI and PT Bumi Serpong Damai in implementing the construction of the New Jatake Station. We usually call projects like this creative financing where the function of transportation infrastructure is collaborated with the private sector,” said the Minister of Transportation in his official statement, Saturday (30/3/2024).

The construction of Jatake Station is part of the development of the TOD (Transit Oriented Development) concept as a new city facility to reduce transportation density on the highway by maximizing the use of public transportation. Based on TOD, the construction of the New Jatake Station will strategically connect the KRL transportation mode with the BSD City area.

“I advise that hopefully feeders can be facilitated in residential pockets outside BSD because people outside BSD also need accessibility. So that the transition of people from using private transportation to urban mass transportation can be realized,” said the Minister of Transportation.

Director of PT Bumi Serpong Damai, Christopher Siswanto Adisaputro hopes that the existence of Jatake Station can encourage economic growth in the community which in the long term can increase sustainability, especially in the South Tangerang area.

“We hope that Jatake Station will facilitate access for residents of BSD City and residents around Tangerang Regency to Jakarta or vice versa, thereby encouraging economic progress for local residents,” he added.

Jatake Station was built on an area of ​​2,435 m2. Construction of this station has started in January 2024 and is planned to start operating in mid-2025. In this area a train station building will be built with a building area of ​​± 3,000 m2 (3 floors).

Jatake Station is at KM 37+045 on the Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung route. This station will have a platform length of 250 meters and each platform will be 6 meters wide.

Inside the station building, there will be an area for passenger activities, a commercial zone and PT KAI office space. Meanwhile, outside there are parking facilities for cars, motorbikes and bicycles. This station is projected to be able to serve 20,000 passengers every day.

Later, when it is built, the Jatake station will be handed over by PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk through Sinar Mas Land to PT KAI as the operational manager.
