Call for treatment for blind child due to diabetes

Sudenaz (12), the youngest of the 5 children of the Şimşek family living in ERZURUM, lost her sight a year ago due to diabetes. Sudenaz Şimşek, who could not start primary school due to her illness, wants to see again and run and play with her friends.

Sudenaz, the youngest of five children of Cebrail (55), a shepherd, and Rukiye Şimşek (50), a housewife, in the rural Ayvalı Neighborhood of Oltu district, was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 7 years old. Sudenaz’s illness, which her family took to the hospital in the district, progressed day by day. Sudenaz, whose treatment could not be fully completed due to the family’s limited means, closed her eyes approximately 1 year ago. Şimşek, who could not start primary school after kindergarten due to her illness, wants to go to school, run and play in the streets. Sudenaz’s friends do not leave her alone either.

Rukiye Şimşek, requested that her daughter, who loves reading, receive treatment so that she can see again and start primary school, saying, “We took Sudenaz to the doctors for treatment. She lost her sight completely about a year ago. I want a cure for my child. I expect help from our state elders. My child loves reading. She wants to read but she cannot see. Please have her treatment done so that she can see again.”

One of Sudenaz’s friends, Miraç Akçay (12), who called for treatment, said, “We feel very sorry for him. He cannot play with us. Let them help our friend so that he can get his eyesight back.”
