The Ministers of Housing, Hania Pérez de Cuéllar, and of Health, Cesar Henry Vasquezvisited the town center of Cochopampain Chotawhere they announced measures to benefit the community in Cajamarca.
The Minister of Health signed an agreement to provide technical assistance in the formulation, evaluation and physical-legal sanitation of the pre-investment study of the Patrona de Chota Health Center. This initiative will strengthen and will bring health services closer to vulnerable and remote communities in the area.
Vásquez said that the president’s call In Boluarte to join forces is yielding results. “Today we are present at three levels of government: 10 district mayors, the Cajamarca Governorate, the Chota District Municipality, the Legislative Branch and two State Ministers. We must leave behind the violent confrontation that has led us to backwardness,” he said.
In addition, Vásquez announced that the Minsa, in collaboration with the Patrona de Chota Health Center, is committed to Strengthening the health centres of Huambos and Chimbán.

“We are making history together in the country’s health. That is why, I announce to Cajamarca that on July 19 the call for tenders for the Celendín hospital was launched for more than 293 million soles. The contract will be awarded at the beginning of September and work will begin at the end of September, as with the Simón Bolívar hospital, with an investment of more than 256 million soles,” he explained.
For her part, Minister Pérez de Cuéllar attended the placement of the first stone of the drinking water and sanitation project in the city of Chota, in Cajamarca, and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to provide basic services to the most vulnerable Peruvians, with the aim of reducing inequalities.
“This government, led by a woman who decided to give priority to this project in Chota, understands the importance of having waited years to have access to drinking water. It is crucial that every tap in your home provides safe water and also sanitation,” said the MVCS minister.
This project in the town of Cochopampa will benefit 5,319 people from 18 sectors in the peripheral areas of Chotawho currently obtain their water supply from wells.
“What really counts is the gap that is closed. Sometimes a small project can transform people’s lives. The water and sanitation work is now a reality. We have been in government for a year and a half, and this project that had been awaited for years is finally coming to fruition,” said the minister of the sector.
