The Al-Ittihad team achieved a well-deserved victory over its guest, Al-Ittihad Al-Misrati, with a score of two unanswered goals in the match that brought them together on Friday on the field of the Man-Made River Stadium in the fifth week of the second leg of the teams of the second group of the Libyan Premier Football League.
The two teams entered the match with extreme caution, as the players from both teams began to feel the pulse of the opposing team, so the first half ended goalless and scoreless.
In the last quarter of the match, specifically in the seventy-fifth minute of the second half, Al-Ittihad player Omar Al-Khoja was able to put his team in the lead.
As for Al-Ittihad’s second goal, it was not long after the first goal, as Saleh Al-Taher was able to double the score for his team in the 82nd minute of the match.
Before the match, the Al-Ittihad team had 19 points in third place, while the Al-Ittihad Al-Misrati team trailed it by one point in the fourth place, which made Al-Ittihad enter the match with the aim of obtaining the full winning points to secure its passage to the six-placed round, at a time when Al-Ittihad Al-Misrati entered the match. Also seeking to win in order to remove Al-Ittihad from its path towards qualifying for the six-time round, but things turned out to be the opposite.
With this victory, Al-Ittihad was able to collect the full points of the match, clinching third place after its score became 22 points, while Al-Ittihad Al-Misrati’s score stopped at 18 points, placing it in fifth place.
