Buy a house faster: Infonavit reduces terms to obtain a housing loan

MEXICO CITY (apro).- The Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) reduced the continuous contribution time from 12 to 6 months to be able to request a mortgage loan.

The continuous contribution is one of the 1,080 points that the institute takes into account to know whether or not the person is eligible to obtain a loan for their home. This is done with the purpose of determining the worker’s payment capacity and to establish the amount of financing you will receive for the purchase of your home.

On the website micuenta.infonavit.org.mx The worker can see if he or she meets the necessary requirements to obtain his Infonavit credit. These are some of the criteria that the institute takes into account in said evaluation:

  • Quotation two-month periods.
  • Integrated monthly salary.
  • Balance in the Housing Subaccount.
  • Type of worker.
  • Age.

Companies that register workers are also evaluated when considering the worker’s request to obtain a loan; they review compliance with the payment of employer contributions, the job stability of their employees, the context of the company, their location and turn.

In the case of female workers, they receive a 20-point bonus through Mujer Infonavit which helps them qualify faster to obtain the Infonavit Credit.

Previously, in order to obtain the Infonavit credit, it was necessary for workers to have 12 months of continuous contributions; the institute called this reduction “one of the most important changes” it has made during this administration.
