In Narsingdi, a businessman named Muhid Mollah was publicly shot at in the afternoon. However, the businessman survived as the bullet missed the target.
The incident took place at M/s Molla Traders in Hamid Khan Market at Jailkhana intersection on Monday (June 3) around 5:30 pm. The scene of the shooting has gone viral on social media.
Businessman Muhid Molla is the son of Wahab Molla from Bilasadi area of Narsingdi.
Muhid Molla, director of M/s Molla Traders, said that Rabiul Islam, son of Kamal Bhuiya of Chinishpur Union, had been demanding Tk 10 lakh contribution from him for a long time. He was being threatened in various ways for not paying the subscription. came to the business on Monday afternoon and fired three rounds at him. But narrowly escaped as the bullet missed the target.
CCTV footage of 2 minutes and 16 seconds showed a crowd of people, including two youths wearing red T-shirts, in front of a steel shop named Molla Traders. Some people inside the shop. Meanwhile, an excited young man wearing a red genji went forward along the shop and fired several rounds at the shop. The people present were panicked. One of them is seen removing the youth from the spot.
Sakhawat Hossain Raju, manager of the business, said, ‘We were doing business in the shop. Meanwhile, Rabiul came to the shop openly and fired three rounds. Muhid survived for a short while. We are all in a panic.’
In this incident, Muhid Molla filed a written complaint against Rabiul Islam at the police station.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narsingdi Model Police Station Tanveer Ahmed said, CCTV footage of the shop has been collected. Efforts are on to arrest the accused.
