MEXICO CITY (apro).-“We come to promote Mexico so that it has a powerful and sustainable industry in favor of all Mexicans,” said – through his X account – Francisco Cervantes Díaz, president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), about their attendance at the Hannover Messe 2024 Industrial Fair.
According to the CCE, Germany is one of Mexico’s most important trading partners in Europe. In 2023, bilateral trade between the two countries was $30 billion; Mexico exported products worth 9 billion dollars to the European country; German imports to our country amounted to 21 million dollars.
“This work tour reaffirms your commitment to promoting the competitiveness of our country abroad and to taking full advantage of the advantages offered by the phenomenon of relocation of commercial operations, to strengthen our supply chains, attract investments and the economic ties between Mexico and the world,” the CCE noted in a press release.
The annual Hanover Fair, in its 2024 edition, is taking place from April 22 to 26. This event brings together more than 4 thousand exhibiting companies that promote technological advances around artificial intelligence and learning; carbon neutral production; industry 4.0 and industry as well as the integration of data ecosystems; in addition to hydrogen and fuel batteries.
Cervantes Díaz attends the fair, as part of the invitation made to him by the global company Siemens, aimed at electrification, automation and digitalization, to be part of its delegation within the framework of its 130th anniversary.
In addition, the president of the CCE will visit the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg and other headquarters in Berlin in the technological and automation industry, concluding with an event at the Mexican Embassy in Berlin, to celebrate the anniversary of that company.
The Council also highlighted the multiple Mexican companies that have a presence in Germany: Cemex, Bimbo, Alfa, Corporación EG, Mexichem, Metalsa and Grupo Boca; Likewise, several German companies have a presence in our country: Volkswagen, BMW, Siemens, BASF, Bosch and Mercedes-Benz, among others.
On the other hand, María Teresa Mercado Pérez, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, was present at the inauguration of the Mexican pavilion at the fair, representing Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena.
