Brugada leads the start of campaigns for mayors of CDMX

MEXICO CITY (process.com.mx).-With the task of “recovering” the four mayoralties and “initiating the transformation” in another six, Clara Brugada, candidate for Head of Government, led the beginning of the campaigns for the 16 demarcations and the 66 local councils in Mexico City.

In the Juárez Hemicycle, in a soulless act compared to her political rallies attended by thousands of people, the former mayor in Iztapalapa explained that the demarcations that the “Let’s continue making history” coalition intends to “recover” are Cuauhtémoc, Azcapotzalco, Álvaro Obregón and Tlalpan.

Meanwhile, where they want to “start the transformation” is in Coyoacán, Cuajimalpa, Miguel Hidalgo, Magdalena Contreras and Benito Juárez.

Except for the last one, these are the mayoralties that on June 7, 2021, in the midterm elections, the Morena-PT-PVEM alliance lost, when CDMX was governed by the now presidential candidate, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

During his speech this Sunday morning, Brugada stressed that the 16 candidates for mayor and candidates for local councils, present at the scene, have “a historical responsibility” to the people.

The former mayor of Iztapalapa took advantage of the event to highlight that the race in CDMX is against “the candidate of the real estate cartel,” in reference to Santiago Taboada, her opponent from the PAN-PRD-PRI.

The Morenista asked that the audience pass her a flag of the LGBT+ community to wave it and emphasize that her project supports this group and its demands, contrary to what, she said, the opposition candidate does.

Finally, he called on the candidates and attendees to convince the residents of the capital to make the so-called Plan C possible, which means voting on all ballots for the parties that make up the coalition “Let’s continue making history.”
