Breeding Sheep and Goat Breeders Association: Support Applications Started

Speaking about the supports provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in small ruminant breeding, İhsan Akın, Chairman of the Breeding Sheep and Goat Breeders Association, asked producers to apply as soon as possible to benefit from these supports.

Making statements to the press members about livestock supports in the union building, Malatya Province Breeding Sheep and Goat Breeders Union President İhsan Akın stated that the 2024 support model was changed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. He said that in the past, there was support for broodstock, sheep and goats, but as of this year, it was changed to Lamb-Kid Support twice a year. Stating that the aim here is to register slaughtered and unregistered animals, Akın also said that applications started as of September 2.

Akın stated that growers who want to benefit from these supports should register with the provincial and district agricultural directorates and then come to the union building and apply, and he also mentioned other supports.

Stating that 200 TL will be given for lambs and goats and 36 thousand TL will be given for shepherd support, Akın said, “For years, support was given to mother sheep and goats. Support will be given to lambs this year and in 2025-2026. In order to receive support, lambs must remain in the business for at least 120 days. The basic support amount for 2024 was determined as 200 TL. Small businesses, young people and women will be given support in additional specified multiples. Business owners with a maximum of 100 mother sheep and goats will be given an additional 1-fold +200 TL support for their kids and female lambs. Female breeders and young people who are under 41 years of age will be able to receive 0.7-fold +140 TL support for their kids and female lambs. Breeders who are members of first-degree agricultural organizations will be able to receive 0.2-fold +40 TL support for their kids and lambs. Businesses with a maximum of 100 head of mother sheep and goats will be given support for a maximum of one herd manager. “It will be able to receive an additional 1.8 times + 36,000 TL support over 100 heads. In case of abortion within 72 hours after vaccinations made by the Ministry during the year, if the application is made to the provincial-district agriculture and the sample is sent to the laboratory and Brucella is not found, a support payment of 5,000 TL will be made for large cattle and 1,000 TL for small cattle.”

President Akın thanked all authorities, especially President Erdoğan, for the support they provided to animal husbandry and asked the breeders not to delay in benefiting from these supports as soon as possible. – MALATYA
