Publika.az reports that biochemist Lyudmila Polikarpova spoke about this. According to him, borscht contains a large amount of nutrients obtained during long cooking of meat.
“You have to appreciate the value of bone broth. During cooking, the nutrients needed for our body are obtained from the bone. During the cooking process, a broth rich in collagen, gelatin, amino acids and proteins is obtained, which has a beneficial effect on human connective, cartilage and bone tissues. In addition, regular consumption of borscht improves the condition of nails, hair and skin. This effect is achieved thanks to the gelatin in the broth,” the expert said.
He finally noted that the broth can be harmful only if the meat contains antibiotics in excess of the allowed amount or substances used in farms to stimulate rapid weight gain in animals.
