The EU’s high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borrell, called the strike on the Gaza Strip during the distribution of humanitarian aid a serious violation of international humanitarian law. He wrote about this on X social platform.
“I am horrified by the news of another bloody massacre of civilians in Gaza, where humanitarian aid is desperately needed. Those deaths are absolutely unacceptable,” Borel wrote.
He added that “depriving people of food aid is a serious violation of international humanitarian law”, calling for unhindered access of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave, the number of victims of an attack by Israeli forces on a group of people waiting for the distribution of humanitarian aid in the southwest of Gaza City has reached 112. 760 people were injured.
Many Western countries, including France, Canada and Spain, condemned the attack. Israel stated that most of the people were killed during the stampede and as a result of falling under the trucks.
