Borneo FC Tops League 1 Standings, Keeps Hope of Reaching the Championship Series

SAMARINDA – Borneo FC is currently still firmly at the top League 1 standings 2023/2024 with 70 points. Pesut Etam – Borneo FC’s nickname – wants to continue to stay in that position to maintain its hopes of advancing to the championship series round.

As is known, the championship series phase is to determine the champion of League 1. Later, only four teams will have the right to advance to that phase, namely the top four positions in the standings.

Borneo FC Samarinda player, Hendro Siswanto, said that his team would not be satisfied with its current achievements. Therefore, Borneo FC’s main goal is to win League 1 2023-2024.

“We must not be complacent, because our goal is still before our eyes, namely winning the BRI League 1,” said Hendro, quoted from the PT Liga Indonesia Baru (PT LIB) page, Sunday (7/4/2024).

He said Borneo FC said they had to be focused and consistent in future matches. Because the challenges his team will face will be even tougher to become champions of the event.

“The challenges ahead are not easy, even though we have secured a place in the Championship Series and champions in the Regular Series. “Because maintaining consistency is our focus,” he said.

Meanwhile, one of Borneo FC’s goalkeepers, Angga Saputro, said that Borneo FC is becoming more compact and the players’ mentality is getting better. These two things are the key to his team being in its best performance so far.

“This player’s mental season is very strong. “We admit that this season we really don’t want to lose any game and the atmosphere is good,” he said.

“There’s no such thing as envy because you don’t play. Because, all this time we have supported each other. “The most important thing is that each individual shows their best game,” he added.
