Deputies of the Mazhilis of Parliament adopted a draft law banning advertising of bookmakers. Now the bill will go to the Senate, Liter.kz reports.
The Law on Gambling Business completely prohibits outdoor advertising of bookmakers and betting shops on buildings, structures and vehicles, as well as their advertising in mass media, cinema, video and reference services.
Advertising remains permitted at the location of bookmakers and betting shops, inside sports facilities, on athletes’ equipment, on sports television and radio channels, and on Internet resources specializing in covering sporting events.
At the same time, domestic TV channels will be able to advertise bookmakers and sweepstakes during live broadcasts of international sporting competitions.
In addition, the amendments provide for a ban on cellular operators sending text messages containing advertising for electronic casinos, online casinos, as well as advertising for gambling and betting to the population’s subscriber devices.
