The CGU (Comptroller General of the Union) concluded that former President Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) Covid-19 vaccination certificate was fake. Federal Police investigations revealed that the data reported on the certificates had been tampered with to allow Bolsonaro to enter the United States at the end of 2022.
What happened
The CGU identified inconsistencies in Bolsonaro’s vaccination certificate. Data from the Ministry of Health indicates that there is a record of vaccination against covid-19 on July 19, 2021, at UBS Parque Peruche, in Sao Paulo. However, investigations have shown that the former president was not in the capital São Paulo on that date: he had gone to Brasilia the day before and had not taken another flight until 22 July.
The agency also analyzed batch information of the alleged vaccine. Data showed that the vaccine Bolsonaro “took” was not available that day at UBS Parque Peruche. Furthermore, in a statement to CGU auditors, the nurse named on the vaccination card denied having administered the dose and said she was no longer working at UBS at the time, which the documents confirmed.
