After the first solo exhibition held in May 2017, with “O que Espera no Futuro”, the second participation in a collective exhibition on January 12, 2018, with “Impressões&Expressões”, the artist of Angolan nationality Bolondo presents himself on Friday -fair (20), with “Valores no Feminino”, an exhibition that will be on display until the 6th of August
According to information that NA had access to, in this exhibition, Bolondo strives to promote and value women in society, seeks and manages to elevate them, portraying on canvases full of chromatic plasticity and refined technique their permanent struggle for freedom .
According to the artist Patrício Mawete, mentioned in the note, what concerns the artist Bolondo in this “Feminine Values”, is the experience of women in cities, their daily tribulations, the humiliations suffered, the dishonor caused, the violence inflicted, so often in their own homes.
“Bold and innovative, this young artist confirms his potential and embodies works of value, and values, in the feminine”, he reads.
Remember that Papino Simão Mbongo is the name of the artist outside of the arts. He is from Maquela do Zombo, born on September 5, 1990. His passion for drawing and painting was initially expressed through comics, which he already mastered at the age of 12 and which would come to characterize many of his works. Part of his life is spent across borders, in Congo, where his family took refuge during the civil war that devastated Angola.
The Tamar Golan Gallery, from Fundação Arte e Cultura, as an innovative and alternative, non-profit cultural project, which aims to promote Angolan visual arts and support young talents, thus becomes a stage for the new debut of the artist and others. Created in 2013, the year in which the Foundation celebrated its 7th anniversary, Galeria Tamar Golan.
