The 1st Mobil Rally Of Boeny begins its final day of racing today in Mahajanga. Of the 28 teams competing at the start, 15 are the only ones to survive the last 4 special stages. Indeed, yesterday’s second stage was truly monstrous for the participants, knocking out nine competitors. The Rasoamaromaka twins packed up and left despite the attacks and scratches they achieved. For Faniry and Mahenintsoa, their Peugeot 206 T16 encountered a differential problem that caused damage to the steering rack. The Mika-Fafa crew, meanwhile, were in a favourable position during the first day on Thursday aboard a Mitsubishi Evo. However, the young drivers retired following a suspension arm problem. The twins are now focusing on their fourth round of the Rallye Clio Trophy in a few weeks. In the provisional standings, the Mathieu-Andry crew, the reigning national champion, takes the lead after the ten SS at the wheel of a Subaru. Fred-Mick’s crew is close behind with only a few seconds difference. The Kiady-Fanja duo is in third place. The last day today will be decisive.
