BNM chief Nasim Baloch condemns the targeted murders of Baloch intellectuals in Pakistan

Balochistan: Dr. Naseem Baloch, President of Baloch National Movement (BNM), has strongly condemned the Baloch researchers, teachers and intellectuals to be deliberately targeted. According to The Baluchistan Post (TBP) report, he said in a statement, “These attacks are part of a well -planned strategy to suppress the Baloch nation’s intellectual foundation.” TBP further stated that Dr. Naseem had recently mentioned an incident in Ketch when the alleged Pakistani military proxy killed PhD researcher and education advocate Allah Dad Baloch in broad daylight. Both the Baloch community and the victim’s family widely opposed the murder. He claimed that the attempt to kill Ustad Sharif Zakir has added a new chapter to the current struggle. Zakir has already experienced his son and cousin forcibly abducted by security personnel. According to TBP, Dr. Naseem said, “These are not any isolated incidents, but are part of an organized campaign targeting Baloch scholars, teachers and intellectuals. Professor Saba Dashtiari, Professor Abdul Razzaq, Zahid Askani, Ustad Ali Jaan, Master Nazir and many others have already become victims of the oppression of the state.”
The TBP further stated that Dr. Naseem emphasized that the murder of Allah Dad Baloch and the attack on Ustad Sharif Zakir is not a separate violent incident, but is part of a major campaign to silence the knowledgeable voices supporting freedom and justice. He claimed that to spread terror and suppress the protest, Pakistan’s military -backed agents are eliminating Baloch intellectuals in a systematic manner.
He further said that the policy of targeting Baloch teachers and scholars is a direct attack on the intellectual and cultural fabric of Balochistan. He said, “Its goal is to make the Baloch society academic and intellectually crippled, so that the coming generations to be deprived of education, awareness and national identity,” as the TBP has cited.
Dr. Naseem expressed grief over the lack of international action and criticized for lack of reaction of human rights organizations and United Nations. He said, “Pakistan sees this silence as a green signal to intensify its oppression. The apathy of the international community has promoted a state that continues to commit crime against humanity,” he said, TBP quoted.
The TBP further stated that BNM has demanded immediate, open and fair international investigation in response to these attacks and widespread cruelty in Balochistan. (ANI)
