Blesk Clinic in Olomouc: I’ll finish the carton and cough it up!

In cooperation with the Faculty Hospital in Olomouc, several dozen stalls have grown up in the center of the city, forming mini-clinics of a mobile hospital. Those interested could have their blood pressure measured, check marks, check their sugar level and undergo a number of other examinations.

Many on the spot received recommendations on how to further take care of their health, many people made appointments for more detailed examinations, and many visitors left with the assurance that their state of health is satisfactory so far.

Teacher Monika (21) from Prostějov came specifically to the Blesku Clinic. “I came specifically for Blesk Ordinací. It’s a unique opportunity to get as much information as possible about your health and body.” said the sympathetic teacher to Bleska and added: “I just want to make sure everything is okay. I’ve already had my eyes and heart checked, and so far everything’s fine.”

A healthy person’s breath test should be from 0 to five units. Mrs. Romana (42) inhaled 60 of them. She admitted that she had been smoking 15 to 20 cigarettes a day since she was 17 years old.

“But I want to stop. I was thinking about it yesterday and thought, I’ll finish the carton and cough it up,” revealed Bleska Romana and added: “So today I only had a cigar. But the measurement result is scary. And it’s a good impulse to really cut it. However, the best thing is that I got contacts here, where to turn if I didn’t do well.”

A second can save years

“We very much welcome and support the Blesk office in our city,” stated Olomouc Mayor Miroslav Žbánek. According to him, such an event is important because it attracts attention and people learn what can be investigated. “All around us we see people’s health getting worse. As a 50-year-old myself, I know how important screening is. And I can say that one or a few seconds of unpleasant examination can save you years of surely unpleasant treatment.’
