BKSP’s Rifat Baig set a record in the semi-finals of the Sheikh Kamal U-18 National Cricket Tournament. This teenager alone has made history by playing an innings of 320 runs.
Dhaka Metro and BKSP met in the semi-final of the tournament at the Shahid Kamaruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi. Batting first, Dhaka Metro was all out for 143 runs.
BKSP batting lost wickets at regular intervals but opener Rifat batted keeping one end. Batting for 650 minutes against Dhaka Metro, he remained unbeaten with 320 runs off 483 balls with 29 fours and 4 sixes. Rifat is the first triple centurion in the age group cricket of the country.
Based on Rifat’s innings, BKSP accumulated 549 runs. Apart from achieving this feat for the first time in age-based cricket, Rifat completed the entire innings from start to finish.
Rifat, who reached a half-century on the first day, brought up a double century on the second day. Then he started the game with 221 runs on the third day. BKSP’s collection was then 401 runs for 6 wickets. From there, he gave the team a lead of 406 runs with his triple century.
Dhaka Metro is batting in the second innings.
In the other semi-final of the season, Sylhet and Khulna divisions are fighting in Bogra.
