Bill to modify Colombia’s coat of arms is ready

“There is already a bill that seeks to modify the coat of arms of Colombia to say ‘Freedom and fair order’ because that is the social justice, equity and democracy that our national symbols should reflect and represent, also complying with that mandate of the president of the republic, to make the transformation of our symbol, of what we aspire to in our country as having social justice.”said the congresswoman.

What are Petro’s arguments for adjusting Colombia’s coat of arms?

According to President Petro, it is important that the wave of new generations see the importance of justice to transform the country, as Petro described the current coat of arms as “ghostly,” since in his opinion it reflects the reality of the country.

“So that our future generations know that the only possible order in a society is the order of justice,” said the president at that time in the middle of his speech, causing a stir because until now none of his predecessors considered it important.
