Madrid (Europa Press) .- The former president of the United States Joe Biden expressed his gratitude to all those who have transferred his “love and support” after being diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer that has already extended by his bones.
“Cancer affects us all. Like many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are stronger in difficult places,” he said in a message in his account in the social network X. “Thank you for encouraging us with your love and support,” added the former president.
The Biden office specified on Sunday that the former president was submitted last week to an exam “after the discovery of a new prostate nodule after experiencing an increase in urinary symptoms”, before detailing that, after that, he was diagnosed with level 9 prostate cancer on the Gleason scale, within Group 5, “with metastases in the bone.”
Biden retired from the presidential race for age reasons and his successor, Kamala Harris, was defeated in the elections last November by Donald Trump, current tenant of the White House. Biden, who is now 82 years old, has been the oldest president in the history of the United States.
