US President Joe Biden changed his tone on the ceasefire issue between Israel and Hamas. He said that the ceasefire and hostage release agreement may come into effect in the upcoming month of Ramadan.
Although Biden recently said we are very close to a ceasefire agreement. He indicated that it will be implemented this week.
Biden said, I am optimistic that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas will be in force by Ramadan. Ramadan will start on March 10.
As he left the White House, he said, “I am optimistic, we are working to implement it.”
Asked when the truce might take effect, Biden said last week over ice cream that he hoped a truce between Hamas and Israeli forces would take effect by the end of this week.
Biden said, “My national security adviser said, we’re close to a ceasefire and it could go into effect next Monday.”
Meanwhile, Israel has almost stopped the flow of aid to Gaza. For this reason, the US Army said to supply food to the blocked valley from the sky.
More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7. More than 70 thousand were injured.
