BI Limits Eid Money Exchange, Maximum IDR 4 Million Per Person

JAKARTA – Bank Indonesia (BI) in 2024 it limits the number of redemption packages new money to a maximum of IDR 4 million during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2024. Meanwhile, BI has increased the cash which was previously IDR 3.8 million.

Deputy Governor of BI, Doni P. Joewono said, BI always strives to improve the quality of the SERAMBI program every year. “This year strengthening the program includes increasing the number of packages exchange money to a maximum of IDR 4 million,” said Doni in his official statement, Friday (15/3/2024).

“Modernizing the mobile cash fleet, adding features to digitalize exchanges via QR codes on the PINTAR Application to make it easier for people to make exchanges,” he added.

Meanwhile, BI has prepared money fit for circulation (ULE) amounting to IDR 197.6 trillion to meet the need for exchanging Rupiah currency during Ramadan and Idul Fitri 2024. The amount of ULE provided has increased by 4.65% compared to the realization in 2023 which was recorded at IDR 188.8 trillion.

BI said that starting from Friday (15/3) to Sunday (7/4/2024), the public can exchange Rupiah at 4,264 commercial bank office service points spread throughout Indonesia at predetermined locations.
