Bernaki officially resigns from the presidency of Wydad

Abdelmajid Bernaki surprisingly submitted his resignation from the presidency of the Wydad Athletic Club football team, today, Thursday, with the beginning of the countdown to the next general assembly that will determine the identity of the new president of the Red Castle.

“Hesport” learned from an informed source that Bernacchi officially resigned from his duties as president of the “Red” team.

The same source explained that Bernacchi’s resignation from the presidency of the “Red” team’s managerial office was due to the many pressures he faced after assuming the presidency of the club during the recent period.

Guide Refutes Rumors

For his part, Abdel Sadiq Murshid, General Secretary of Wydad Athletic Club, refuted the recent news that indicated that he assumed the task of heading the “Red” team, after former President Abdelmadjid Bernaki resigned from his position.

Morched said in a statement to Hesport: “I categorically deny taking on the presidency of Wydad after Bernaki’s resignation. I did not tell anyone about the matter, and the law does not automatically grant me that.”

He added: “I am the general secretary of the Wydad team, and the law grants the task of interim presidency to the first vice president after the resignation of the president.”

He continued: “We will hold a meeting in the next few hours with the members of the Executive Office, to manage the post-Bernaki resignation phase before the next general assembly.”

The Wydad Athletic Club management had previously received five nominations for the club’s presidency, namely: Hicham Ait Mena, Anas Kourami, Nasik Karam, Athil Touzor and Saadallah Yassin.
