Tomás Faria, president of Petro de Luanda, announced that the club intends to build, in the medium term, a sports complex, with a stadium, modeled after the Benfica and Sporting stadiums, a reference infrastructure at European level.
The president of the Angolan giant said that his recent trip to Portugal, where he visited the two largest stadiums in Lisbon, allowed him to outline the project for the club’s future infrastructure.
On the occasion of the club’s 42nd year of existence, Tomás Faria guaranteed that the infrastructure will include cinema rooms, stores, service station, television studio, supermarkets, among other services.
Tomás Faria also said that they are already starting to think about transforming the aforementioned sports association into Petro de Luanda SAD.
Despite its length of existence and the titles won in Angolan football, Petro de Luanda does not have its own stadium and holds its games at the 11 de Novembro stadium, an infrastructure under the supervision of the Angolan government. The same happens in relation to basketball and handball, both of which are with several titles won domestically, as well as on the African continent.
As for football, Petro de Luanda is the most titled Angolan team, with 15 national champion trophies.
