Benchlikha replaces Douzi in “Starlight”

Hespress electronic newspaper learned from a special source that the makers of the Moroccan talent discovery program “Starlight” have begun filming scenes for the third season of the latter, which aims to discover and support new singing talents from all over Morocco; after the end of the voice search phase, last June.

A Hespress source pointed out that the new version of the “Starlight” program is witnessing changes and amendments that will surprise the Moroccan audience.

The same source reported that the organizers of the Moroccan talent show, which airs on the second channel “2M”, have decided to include the young singer Manal Benchlikha as a member of the jury; to replace the Moroccan artist Abdelhafid Douzi, who withdrew after two seasons of this show. This year, the jury will witness the presence of the Moroccan musician Nouamane Lahlou, for the third season in a row; in addition to Asma Lamnawar, Hatem Amor and Aminox.

The private source added that the changes within the program also included the names of the trainers, as singer Sanaa Marhati was replaced by singer Dalila Maksoub, alongside singer Abdelali Anwar and Nabil Al-Khalidi, as they supervise the training of the participating talents.

The “Starlight” program is expected to present, in its third season next October, a group of distinguished voices that seek to achieve the dream of stardom and develop and refine their singing talent at the hands of professionals.

The artist Abdelhafid Douzi revealed, in an interview with Hespress, that he had withdrawn from the “Starlight” program due to a health problem that affected his back, which did not allow him to sit for a long time during the filming of the primetime series, which took long hours and required great physical effort.

Al-Douzi said that he faced difficulties during the filming of the previous two seasons, and he would stop to rest, which would cause inconvenience to the program crew; which is what made him decide to apologize this year.
