Injuries continue to haunt Real Madrid during the current season, before the matches between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in the Spanish League and the King’s Cup.
Real Madrid will host its neighbor, Atletico Madrid, next Saturday evening, in the 23rd round of the Spanish League (La Liga).
After 5 days, specifically next March 2, Real Madrid will face its traditional rival, Barcelona, in the semi-finals of the Spanish King’s Cup.
Before these two matches, Real Madrid received a strong shock represented by the injury suffered by the Brazilian duo Rodrigo and the Austrian David Alaba.
The Royal Club issued a statement saying: “After the tests conducted today on our player Rodrigo by Real Madrid’s medical services, he was diagnosed with an injury to the left piriformis muscle.”
The statement explained that Alaba also underwent some tests that confirmed his injury to the right biceps femoris muscle.

Spanish Radio Cadena Cope revealed that Alaba’s absence will last at least a month, in addition to Rodrygio’s absence from the field for 10 days.
Therefore, the duo will miss the derby matches against Atleti and the Clásico matches against Barcelona in the local league and the Spanish King’s Cup.
Real Madrid suffers from 3 confirmed absences from Barcelona’s Clasico so far, represented by Frenchman Ferland Mendy, the team’s left back, along with Rodrigo and Alaba.
Mendy has two weeks left to recover from the injury he suffered in his left foot at the end of last January.
The duo, Alaba and Rodrigo, will also miss the match, after a period that was revealed due to the injuries they suffered during the 5-2 win over Liverpool, in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.
Rodrygo will miss Real Madrid’s matches against Atletico, Barcelona and Real Betis, while “Merengue” Alaba will miss the same matches in addition to the return match against Liverpool scheduled for next March 5.
