Beef was sold at Tk 750 per kg in the market last week but today it is being sold at Tk 800 per kg. In some places boneless meat was seen to be sold for 800 taka. That is, the price of beef has increased by Tk 50 to Tk 100 per kg within a week.
Segunbagicha market meat seller Enamul Hossain told Jago News that the price of beef has increased ahead of Eid. That is why the price of meat is also higher. They do not make any profit by selling meat at low prices.

A buyer named Rafiqul Islam, who came to the market, revealed that the price of meat has increased. He said, the sellers are taking the price of meat as they want. Meanwhile, broiler chicken prices have increased by another Tk 20 to Tk 250 per kg in the market within a week. At the same time, the price of golden chicken has also increased. A kg of golden chicken has risen to Tk 330-350.
Yunus Hossain, a chicken seller in Malibag market, said that the demand for chicken has increased due to Eid. The supply is less than that. The price of chicken is increasing by 5-10 taka in the wholesale market every day for the last three days.

Another essential commodity in Eid is Polao rice. Since the beginning of Ramadan month, it has increased by 1-2 taka and now open sugar powder is being sold at the rate of 125 to 150 taka per kg. Besides, it has been seen that the packaged rice of various companies is being sold at Tk 160 per kg.
Abu Saeed, the owner of Bismillah General Store in Segunbagicha Bazaar, told Jago News that compared to the last one month, Polao rice has increased by Tk 10 per kg.
However, the price of vegetables in the market did not increase again. Due to Eid, people have started leaving Dhaka slowly. Due to which the demand of vegetables in the market has also decreased, the sellers said.
