She was upset by the live broadcast of the Czech Lions, where, according to her, he was “uncompromisingly and irreverently” interrupted the speech given by Daria Kashcheeva, who won the prize in the Magnesia Award category for the best student film.

„At the same time, it was so important that it was heard. Loud and precise in this company. And also to viewers who may have never even noticed the depth of the problem. How could they… it’s still just a ‘fringe issue’ even if it affects at least half of the entire society.” the actress was angry. She also mentioned the paradox that something like this happened very shortly after March 8, i.e. “which celebrates women and calls for equality”.

Mom and actress

“Well, I would like to say something about that… I am a mother. And I’m an actress too. But it costs me a lot of effort to take on both of these roles. It hurts. On soul and body. It means not sleeping, being totally exhausted, misunderstood, as a mother-actress often overlooked because for some creators or producers it is a ‘complication’. It means fear and uncertainty. Not only do I not do my job the way I want and wish, but I can’t even stand up to my children. That I won’t defend it to those around me,” she described difficult times.

“So many times I faced criticism from those closest to me that hurt the most and hit the most sensitive places because it was aimed at the most fragile… Criticism that shook my self-confidence and stifled my creative potential. And I had no choice but to find courage and lost confidence in myself again. Stand up for yourself. Combat. About my place in working life and about my status as the best mom in the world, which I want to be for my children. And even though I know deep down that I can have both, that integrity is challenged and challenged on a daily basis and it’s damn hard to maintain.”

Considering that she moves among moms-actresses, she knows very well that they too are in a similar circle of feelings and doubts. “And it’s unpleasant and painful to listen to how they are afraid to get pregnant so they don’t lose their jobs. How they are afraid to announce their pregnancies because it means they will no longer be offered a job. And often for a period of several months or years. Because it is simply assumed that they will be home with the child.’ If they want to work, then they have to “constantly convincing someone that they can do it and arrange for babysitting. And even if they arrange everything, they will still face criticism.”

Some people do not even get support from their partner – which he knows from his own experience. It is said that she initially rejected her first big role because her now ex-partner did not agree to play it. “I know actress-moms who are not able to cope after maternity leave, because this little pond is damn small and there is no interest in mothers here, because even twenty-five-year-old actresses can play their roles (true story). I could go on and on,” she lamented that this company doesn’t want to hear about this topic anyway. And what happened at the Lions is a clear proof of that.

What with this?

“What is the way out of this trapped mechanism? And when will people finally stop relativizing this problem? When will they finally understand that we don’t want to choose between motherhood and a career, and that wanting both doesn’t mean we’re cut-throat feminists? When will they stop throwing sticks under our feet and at least try to ease this whole situation? Maybe just by respecting us, listening to us and maybe even helping us by not judging us?’ she asked publicly.

According to her, all women, those who work and those who have decided to “just stay at home” and take care of their children and family, “Worthy of absolute admiration. All in one. And whoever doesn’t see and hear that is a fool. Other moms would definitely agree with me that it is very difficult to put yourself before the needs of your children. That we are often unable to do this, because it costs us a lot of strength and self-blame. And also the misunderstanding of the environment we have to face,” she meant emphatically. And her manifesto was definitely interesting.
