Yesterday, Sunday, the Moroccan men’s national beach volleyball team secured its qualification ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, after winning the African Championship, which was hosted by Martil Beach over a period of 3 days.
The Moroccan national team, consisting of the duo Zuhair El Karaoui and Mohamed Abeisha, was able to maintain the African title, after defeating the Mozambican team in the final match in two rounds without a response, by 21-18 and 21-12.
In the semi-final match, the Moroccan national team defeated its South African counterpart, ranked third, with a score of two rounds to one, 18-21, 21-18, and 15-10.
In the female category, the Egyptian team was able to grab the qualification ticket to the Paris Olympics after winning the African title, against its Nigerian opponent in two rounds of one, 15-21, 21-16, and 15-08, while the Moroccan team settled for third place after losing the semi-final to the defending champion.
The President of the Royal Moroccan Volleyball Federation, Bouchra Hajej, highlighted that the Moroccan male team continued to impose its African dominance, after it was able to win all its matches in this African event, and ensure attendance at the Olympic Forum for the second time in a row.
Bouchra Hajej, who also heads the African Volleyball Confederation, added that the ambition of the Moroccan national team, along with the Royal University, is to appear honorably at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and to honor African beach volleyball, especially since the members of the Moroccan national team have gained sufficient experience and harmony.

This African Championship, organized under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, by the African Volleyball Federation in coordination with the Royal Moroccan Volleyball Federation, saw the participation of the strongest African teams; 17 teams competed in this African event in the men’s category, and 12 teams in the women’s category.
It is worth noting that after the conclusion of this African Championship qualifying for the Paris Olympics, the African Beach Soccer Championship for under-19s will also start today, Monday, in Martil; qualifying for the Beach Soccer World Championship in China.
